Just won an award but i need to write a phrase about how happy I am to win it. Anybody think of how another way to write ' winning this award was the icing on the cake'?

Its got to be 50-100 words

This is what i have so far but I dont like the icing on the cake part...

Having qualified from Sheffield Hallam University with a first class degree, receiving third prize in the 2008 CIAT Student Awards for Technical Excellence was for me, icing on the cake. Following a four year demanding course, it justifies all the hard work that not only me but also my lectures have undertaken. I feel privileged that my endeavours have been rewarded and will be honoured receive my award in London.

At the risk of being far too serious...

"...I consider receiving third prize in the 2008 CIAT Student Awards for Technical Excellence to be the pinnacle of my achievements".

It's a bit wordy but it's all I've got at the moment. I'd also change the bit about you and your lecturers to "..the hard work that both me and my lecturers have undertaken", it just flows a bit better I think.
