Another "what car would you buy for £xxx" thread.....

Interesting thread, I have exactly the same sort of decision to make as the OP and the same budget (cept I only drive 3 miles to work and back, will cycle in the summer)

I came to the conclusion of a ATR closely followed by a 528i. Why?

Wanted something new(ish) wanted something fast (ish) but I didn't want a Mondeo. Why I didn't want a Mondeo I'm unsure, I just don't really fancy one, silly I know. Leaveing the ATR the best in the price range for me. The ITR seemed to be just to rare to find nice examples of DC2 (and to expensive) and the others just did'nt come upto form for the same kind of quickness.

Saying that I still have my Calibra and I'll hopefully run that till March/April when the horrible weather is all gone.
 
Not a huge fan of the 528i shape to be honest, and the extra 2-4 years older the car would be put me off a little. I know it's fantastic build quality and if I could look past the looks it's a better car, but i cant! Heart says ATR mind says 528i, heart always wins sadly.

3 Series always looked much better (imho)
