anoying noise..

hello

just recently i have noticed that my hard drive (as per sig) has been making a lot of noise when not in use. for example i could be doing homework with the pc turned on for music or something, and after a few minutes of not touching it, it goes very loud and noisy as if its under full load or something. Then as soon as a touch the mouse and start using the pc again the noise stops and it is as normal.

anyone els getting this??

also, is it a bad sign or a good sign? is it just sorting itself out when not in use??

please help.

Probably defragging whilst idle. Do you have a 3rd party tool installed?

Are you runiing Vista? If so, it will be indexing and such. Either that or its MS grabbing the contents of you drive for examination by the FBI and FACT.
