Antec 300 & 5970 - Will I need to cut the HDD tray out?

Recently bought a XFX BE 5970. I've got an Antec 300 case which i'm pretty sure won't be able to accommodate this beast of a card. Don't want to buy another case as I love this one so i'll be performing a minor 'operation' on it.

Guessing i'll have to cut a portion of the HDD tray out but i've no idea how to go about it. I've Googled this already and have not managed to find any pictures or guides so could anyone here on the OCUK forums help me please?

I'll be happy to do a 'project log' as such, will post a photo of my case and it's innards tomorrow once I get back from work.

I hope I won't have to cut into it, don't have any tools over as i'm staying at a mates house over the weekend!

Just had a wee look, the 5970 will not fit :(

My HiS 5950 Turbo is 27cm long (just over 10.5 inches) and im about an inch away from hitting the HDD rack. Will need to be cut and my 5970 should be arriving tomorrow.

B******s!

Have taken a photo too, will upload when i've fixed my phone (dropped it in a 15 liter tub of paint!).
 
Apologies for the bump but I can't find any picture whatsoever of people modding their Antec 300 cases for big cards, this leads me to believe that no one has bothered to do so which worries me :(

Really don't want to buy another case just for a new graphics card :(
 
Muel you're a star, thanks a lot for the picture. Looks like i'm going to have to do that then. I'm guessing i'll have to take the rivets out, then will the HDD rack just come out?

Also, I've got 2 HDD's so where am I going to put them!? :/
 
Jesus Christ! I thought i'd done a botch job but Silkfire you totally butchered your case!

I took the HDD tray out and hacksawed it and put it back in:
