Hi all

I've had my build for a bit more than 6 months and now want to put some extra fans on the Antec 300 case. I'm looking for recommendations on what fans would be best for it and if it's worth filling all of the mounts. I was thinking filling the one at the side and one at the front. Not sure though so that's why I'm here. :)

Also, my top fan sometimes makes a 'click' sound every time the fan revolves when I start the computer up. It eventually stops in about two minutes. I guess it's due to the vibrations with the case but I have secured it in as tight as I can get it. Be great if somebody could confirm that. If that is the case I am keen to remove and install a better one.

I blocked the side vent in mine up, just taped over the back of the panel, had a Scythe gentl typhoon 800 in the front at the bottom, was cool enough for me although im not sure it made much difference.

The antec fans are quite loud even on low so a lot replace them anyway

Rather than blocking up the side fan intake, just swap the panels over so that the panel that has the fan intake is on the "wrong" side of the case.

There's no real need for a side fan, especially if you have two intakes at the front.

I have an akasa amber on the side intake, it reduces gpu temps 8-10c. I have 2 sharkoon silent eagle 2000rpms on the front intakes.

If I drop the side panel off, cpu temps drop by about 10c, but gpu temps increase about 10c :p

I have to regularly clean the dust filter for the front 2 fans.

I have been using Sharkoon case fan 80mm/120m and 140mm...so far so good. you might check some reviews or different forums which people are pretty happy with the performance
