I recently was bought a computer from overclockers and very happy with it so far but I was wondering should the top fan on the antec 300 case spin all the time or not? At the moment the only time I have seen it move is on power up and even then it just a twitch, I'm guessing it will start up once the temperature rises, I just want to make sure that its okay before I start using more demanding graphics etc.

No, it should spin constantly. Make sure the 4-pin molex connector is plugged in properly. If it is then it sounds like a faulty fan.

it mite be worth checking the molex plugs i have this problem with my antec 300 as the pins are a bit loose in the molex plugs!

Thanks very much for all the advice, I now have a spinning fan! I think on closer inspection a cable was pressing against the fan preventing it from spinning, hence the twitch movement when the machine powers up but I also had a good check of all the connectors too. Thanks again.

I am having a problem with the top fan as well. Sometimes it starts up properly but then immediately slows down and spins at a slow pace (100% sure it is not hitting any wire, checked it a few times) with a sort of 'click' sound. It does get back up to normal speed though.

Anybody else have this issue at all?

I'll check the plugs once I get back home and see if that solves anything.
