Yesterday I changed my case from an Antec 900 to the Lian Li PC7, now my system temps have gone up by 10 degrees, now at 47.

My CPU temps are also up to close to 40 on idle.

I thought this case was good for cooling? Also people say the Antec is cramped, id say it has more room than the PC7, I have 3 HDD's yet the PC7's HDD holder only holds 2 drives, my third is stuck behind the floppy bays where it doesnt exactly fit great.

Also its now making more noise than my Antec as I have had to speed the fans up to try and cool it down.

Is it my awful cable management? really wish I had a modular psu now.

I'll try to get some tomorrow, or I might try and tidy them 1st as its really bad.

Anyone thats good at cable management wanna come fix it for me? I'll pay you ;)

Off to bed now as I have to be up at 4:30am :(

Simple, sell the Lian Li and put everything back in your 900.

What could be better.

Antec 900 gets a thumbs up from me :)

Already sold the 900.

Maybe sell the PC7 and get a bigger better Lian Li?

Strange thing is the temps seem to have got lower now, system is 34, cpu cores are 30-31, why is that?

Still not happy where my 3rd drive is thou

Hate to say it but did you not check to see if it could hold all of your hard drives? :)

As stated previously...When you get a chance post some pics, maybe we can help with the cable management. But someone else is having trouble with temps in a pc7 also on the forums currently.

If your gona get a bigger Lian-li, dont get the v1000, i have it and its apparently brilliant. I beg to differ quite frankly.

did you remove the CPU/HS when changing case? if so it may have taken a few hours for the thermal paste to 'settle', if not, it may have come loose when transfering?

buy 2 nice, big sata drives, and sell the other 3

the lian li holds 3 hdds in the botom with space for 2 more behind 3 1/2 bays and u can also buy 5 1/4 bays to hdd racks. as for cooling sort your cables out, that improves airflow, also try better fans, the zalmans are good at cooling, i have 7 120mms in my lian li v2100. :D

same here - changed from a Coolmaster Caviler to an Antec 900 and load temps have dropped 8/10 degrees cause of better cooling!

The box says it has room for 3 x internal 3.5" drives, I will take a pic in a sec.

I didnt remove the HS from the CPU, its the system temp that was up.

Edit: - Noob alert, it can hold 3 x 3.5" in the internal bay, me being dumb

TBH I'm not all that surprised. Considering the 900 has 2 x 120's at the front, which gives more air to the cpu etc... And also the helicopter 200 at the top extracting, imo it should be cooler. Whether it should be cooler by such a scale is debatable, use better fans and better cable management.
As you've found out the it can easily take 3 HD's.

I personally have the Lian Li PC-60B Plus II, same dimensions as the PC-7 but slightly wider. It's cooling is arranged differently though, has intake from both the front and back, and extracting from the top and side.

In any case, most people opt for the Lian Li's for their build quality and alu construction, sleek lines and simple yet effective design.

Can the Lian Li side fan be brought on its own?

The vent in top of the case, is this for an 80mm fan? maybe it could help me.

Edit - just got the answer to the 80mm fan question, recommend me a good 80mm fan? I have a controller to set it to whatever I like too.

Sort the cables out if you can, tape them to the top if you need to. Remove the filter on the rear case fan (and the fan guard) as combined these will be blocking about 80% of the rear fans airflow.

Lies, it is brilliant :p

Very tempted to replace all fans with Sharkoon's, and add the 80mm in the top.

Has anyone modded a PC7 to fit a 120mm fan in the side? Seems a shame to cut it but I will if it will help lower temps.
