Antec P190 or Coolermaster Cosmos or other?

Hi guys,

Well, I'm looking at putting together a new system.

This will be used for high end gaming, but also for audio recording, so it needs to be as quiet as possible! (don't want to be running a noise gate high all the time! and anyone else who has used condensor mic's will know how well these things pick up background noise!)

Was originally set on the Coolermaster Cosmos. The only Issue I have with that case is the lack of cooling on the HDDs. (It looks seriously kick ass tho!)

I've also had recommendations of the Antec P190. I like the looks of this case too. The only issue is the price. However, considering it includes PSU's it isnt that much more expensive than buying a Cosmos plus a PSU.

Which would you recommend?

Also, are the PSU's supplied with the Antec good quality? I've had a case with a cheapy PSU before, and the PSU fried taking out a few components with it, so I don't want to make that mistake again! Also, for those with the case, are the PSUs noisy?

Thanks guys!

(wanted to add a poll, but you can't it seems :( )

Antec P190 over the Cosmos anyday. The only problem with the Antec is the PSU's. Dual unit's is just stupid and realistically you only get the 650W unit for the motherboard, GPU, CPU, etc. and the 550W for some DVD and HD drives.

The PSU's however, are of good quality, as good as any Coolermaster PSU, for example.

Also, I can imagine the PSU's being noisy, they're running hot(ter) 'cos they're positioned side by side so the fans must spin up more than usual.

Hmm, that's going to be a pain if they are louder.

I dare say, if it is a major issue, i could always just replace them with a single PSU. Just annoying that so much money was forked over to possibly end up with two redundant PSUs!

Silverstone TJ-09 is a good option. But then of course, you have to add the PSU cost ontop of the case.

With regards to the P190 though, it uses thick steel and a compartmentalised design, so the sound of the PSU's should be kept down.

The case itself is also incredibly heavy. Especially with two PSU's in it.

Plus, I don't know either way, but do you have to run both Antec PSU's in the P190?

I'm sure the 650W has some SATA, Molex connectors.

EDIT: It's annoying though. Antec only put two PSU's in the P190 because they didn't have an 850W/1000W unit at the time. Now they do, so why don't they just replace them with a Quattro?

Ach the weight isnt a problem, i've been heavily into oly lifting for the last (almost) 2 years, so it isnt that hefty! Plus it'll end up spending most of it's time sitting at home!

I'm not sure, hopefully, it would be good to not need both running!

its what i want to know as well, get 2 of these sitting at home as im gonna be building my self and me bro a new pc. cant wait to get back home tho

hi guy's.ive got the p190 and its superb in everyway,as for using the 2 psu's together...there is a green wire that you connect and that make's them both work at the same time,noise--i had a antec 900 case and it was a lot more louder than my p190,im using sharkoon fan's inside mine as i did with the 900 but the p190 has sound proofing on the door's and does keep the noise down.there is so much room inside the p190 it will last you year's and i like the design to al those case's that have light's and cathode's everywhere.imho.....i wouldnt go for any other case.
