to OP and co, yes i think it is actually disgraceful that people are allowed to get away with that level of descrimination and abuse based purely on physical attributes. it is tantamount to racism, and im dissapointed that your heads/police etc refused to take up the point.

just goes to show how %$"££$ed up our society is and how sensitivites are divided between different groups dependant on their percieved "importance"

More seriously, I'm surprised that commenting on someones haircolour is even being compared to racism. If someone is picked on for their appearance it isn't nice, it quite possibly shouldn't be acceptable in many cases but it isn't the same as saying "I hate all ...../insert group of your choice".

We got 2 ginger ppl in work and thats no lie. I get on with the ginger girl as the other one unfortunatly has no soul, no seriously he looks like a serial killer with thoes eyes.
But anyway i get on with her really well shes a very nice person ive known her for about 8 months and just last week its the first time i seen her temper and blinkin hell shes scary :mad:

I'm Welsh, and ginger, and i have actually taken offence to more than one reply in this thread.

Just because your taking the micky out of a physical feature, doesnt mean you should be able to get away with it, it's not like it's 'just a joke' to call some a fat minger or something is it?

this is coming from a welsh person (nice ppl by the way) who has a sig with the words welshy and a pic of a sheep next to it, why not go to the full length and get a horny farmer next to it

its not okay, to not like people based on there hair colour,its nearly racist and as mentioned, couldve come from english hating the irish welsh scotts ( and each other) at some point.

unless your Catherine Tate, 16 or have been drinking or are most of the above

More importantly,not taking it seriously at work for instance. could undermine a work collegues promotion or similar,what with the amount of ways it is ignorantly accepted in daily grammer.It makes people who dont have the confidence to ride with the joke to suffer esteem negative reinforcement.Themselves thinking, they are different or not beautiful.This can make it seem like they have no soul,they blank you, but really they are afraid and know you are just a bullying w*****r

We need to encourage the gingers amongst us; let them know that they need not live in shame.

I propose a simple system to unite and recognise all gingers: a red 'G' on an armband that must be worn at all times.
