Any 1.8T 225BHP Audi TT owners

I would imagine almost certainly is 30 or below.

Dont see why the 1.8T can be quite frugal if driven sensibly without the turbo whirring away, guessing you could probably get 35ish on the motorway at a constant 75 indicated.

I used to get a indicated 34mpg on a hilly motorway commute and I never really went below 80.

Beware though the indicated MPG is fairly far from reality, I calculated it from fillups once and 34mpg indicated was more like 30-31mpg real life.

So yes you can get over 30mpg :p

I've got an S3 with the same 1.8T 225bhp engine and sticking to 70mph on the motorway was getting about 40mpg.

Not bad, and to be honest a quite relaxing way to travel.

Yeah speed does make a big difference, I managed 35mpg+ on my 3.0 330i recently by doing a steady 65mph.

Averaged 37 in 6th last time we went up to lincolnshire (130+ miles)

To defend my 34mpg, it's much flatter in the South East as I found when I just moved to Cambridge!

My 34mpg commute was very hilly over the pennines, and the hills also really make a difference in addition to the speed.

I averaged 37mpg at a constant 80 (speedo) in my 210bhp re-mapped 1.8t golf. wouldn't imagine it would be much worse than that! I have averaged 29 since I bought it. that was on the way up to scotland and back from cheshire. I was doing 73 on the gps. ( i have points, have to be careful on motorways)

I can get 32 - 35 on a motorway run.

Usually 25 day to day driving.

Mine's also remapped to 280bhp.

Cheers guys ,, seems 30MPG is deffo possible .

I am looking at one on an 03 plate with 36,000 miles on it this week for 11k, anything i should look out for ? What are the servicing cost like ect?

my cousin used to have one and he says if you keep it under a certain number of rev's the turbo isnt working and it uses a lot less fuel, as soon as you go over that number of rev's the turbo kicks in and it starts to eat a hell of a lot of fuel, cant remember what number of rev's it was tho, so you could just try and see, might have been around 2000 or 1800

The turbo should spin up from 1800RPM but that doesn't mean that its drinking fuel like its going out of fashion beyond that point. With the 180bhp 1.8T in my Octavia on a 110 mile run at a steady 80 with half of Ikea in the boot I got 36MPG so even with the 225bhp in the TT 30 will be easily achievable IMO
