Like allot of people recently I expect I've just got a dual core athlon for my asus av8. Got it slapped in and overclock and now want to start messing about with setting affinity for things but don't really know what I'm doing. For example, is it best to just put everything in task manager which isn't a game to use one processor only? Or are there certain background tasks which definetly benefit from being left on two? The main reason I got it was to allow more power for games. Are there any basic guides to what works best anywhere? Did a quick google but couldn't find anything obvious.

Its just that before I took the plunge all I ever heard was people going on about the advantages of putting things like virus checkers on the second core only and that....
