Any benchmark sites for old cpu's Vs New ?

Ive got a shuttle sn45g system with an xp3200 cpu and wondered if i should get a new system.

Are there any websites that have benchmarked old systems like mine against dual core cpus ?

This chart doesn't have a XP 3200+ but it does have a Athlon64 2800+ which is a bit faster than yours. A dual core C2D and AMD X2 are quite are lot faster.

That seems an odd way to approach an upgrade. If you haven't noticed the speed is slow, then why upgrade? Surely there must be another reason other than "it isn't very new/current techonology" ????

If you don't need to, then don't upgrade. Don't waste money you don't need to.

I have noticed my pc is fairly slow at some tasks, but it still does those tasks.

So are you saying i shouldnt upgrade until my pc wont do the tasks i perform ?

If this was the case i would still have my pentium 166 which im sure would still burn cd's!

I asked the question because i wondered how much faster the new cpu's are.

With mine being a 2.20 GHZ XP3200 and the CPU i was thinking of buying being 3 GHZ it didnt seem much of an improvement.

But the links provided have shown me that a new processor would perform various tasks quicker than my XP3200.
