I went and saw "Bill Hicks: Slight Return" last night and if your a fan of Bills, then this is definatly worth seeing. :D

This guy has Bills expressions and mannerisms down to a tee, while nothing can compare to the real thing, which is gonna be very hard to get these days :p, this is a great tribute.

I would tell you about a some of the material, but all the censoring would ruin it. Goat boy makes a welcomed return. ;)

Tribute to Bill Hicks. Can't imagine anybody else but Hicks do the things he did though. One of a kind. Can't actually comment without actually seeing the tribute, but they'd have to be pretty damn good to live up to Hicks acts though.

How odd - the chap who does "Slight Return" is a good friend of mine.
He's been touring it for a little while now.
Info
It's been extremely well received, from the Fringe to the West End run(s).
You don't have to "know" Hicks to get it - but it helps.
He and the other writer are continually updating the material (I'm still waiting for my gag about Jesus Army conscripts to make it in) and it's got a bit of a cult following....even as a friend I can say that it is very good - and the new material sits seamlessly with the nods to the original....and what goes on in todays world makes a fertile feeding ground....

See it - I'm not on commision, but I can tel Chas that I have helped him sell out again - might get me a beer :p

Its strange, I don't understand his following. I wouldn't even class him as a comedian.

*BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT*

Now 15-odd years ago, he had people VERY uncomfortable...Imagine the reception that a comedian alluding to sex with young girls and pop starlets being raped by rock gods would get these days...

Tell Chas I loved his show.
Even the bit where he forgot his next topic ;)

DEL707 - I'll be seeing him next week at footie (I think)- where did you see it and what did he forget - should be worth bit of banter :)

I can't remember what bit he forgot, I'll ask the people in work tomorrow, but it was quite funny, he was pacing up and down for ages smoking, then made a comment about how he had done the show over a 150 times.

Then he run over to the sound guy to see what his next topic was. :D

Someone that stood in front of a crowd that agreed with him and spouted facts. Big wow :)
