Any details on Galaxy RMA procedure/warranty?

Not having a good day.

First i chipped the tiniest bit off the corner of my core on my S754 Newcastle with shim removed which caused it to die. Then after picking up a 2800+ Sempron to replace and test it, i got screen corruption all over the shop in BIOS (i.e, the memory's stuffed) out oif my Galaxy Glacier 6800GT.

So i goto the Galaxy site and look for some RMA details or whether it'll even be in warranty...I could get more information out of a Mars bar.

Does anyone know how long the warranty period is on these cards (5 years = good, 3 years = hopefully make it, 1 year = :( ) and has anyone RMA'd a card to Galaxy recently?

Help me save my money, im 10 seconds away from 2GB GeIL/Asus P5N/E6300 Core 2/BFG 8800GTS with Lifetime warranty :)

The Galaxy website i already mentioned that was totally useless perhaps?

I dont think the bloke i bought the card off MM second hand over a year ago is going to give me a refund either.

I have mailed them about it and will hope for the best.

I never noticed the bit abpout the website lol.

I think theres zero chance of getting your cash back from the seller, i know if it was me i wouldnt even entertain the idea over a year later.

The C2D system with the 8800 looks very tastly :)

Pretty sure these Galaxy cards only come with 1 year warranty,i used to have a Galaxy 6800GT.The website is a joke & i think they have to be RMA'D to Hong Kong as well :( Just to echo the last post,i would'nt entertain a refund for a card sold on the MM a year earlier either ;)

Good luck with it though mate

Galaxy are a nightmare if your card goes wrong. There was a chap on here last year and another on the PCPro forums also last year. They both had a variety of 6800. I think one was a GT and the other a standard 6800. Both had failed after a year. I believe the warranty is for 3 years but it is worthless as Galaxy did not respond to any of their requests. There is no UK support centre and as already stated, the website is useless. The retailers they bought them off were not interested as it was outside the first year. In the end they had to just write them off and buy new cards.

Im not worried about the previous seller, i know im not getting a refund there dudes :p

I have mailed them - the 3 year warranty is good news. If i have to ill badger their Poland office. Ill keep the thread updated.

Only good news i got is i whipped the Sempron to 2.6ghz. Core2 setup will wait til next week and til im sure i can strap my Cascade block on it.

Try full refund on an x1800xt 512 after 15months to the tune of £389 ;)

That made my 8800 decision easier :D

Ok slight update despite the fact that i 'cheated' and spanked a Core2Duo to 3.6ghz and its 8800GTS to 600/1000 to start with.

I rang the Poland office and they had no advice to give me other than to try their UK distributor Target Computers, and to 'google it'.

That worked fabulously if you want to read about Osama Bin Laden targeting Johnny 12 year old downloading porn. No distributors found. Going to try again tomorrow, and if that doesnt work, ill try the Hong Kong office and hope they speak English.

Apart from that i've hooked it up in my shuttle for the time being to try and see if i can perhaps downgrade it to a 6800 with 128mb memory...theory being the GDDR3's are stuffed so try switching half of them off. Can't get this far though as Windows locks up when i finish installing the drivers. Whether thats the card or the Shuttle's PSU letting me down, im not sure yet.

Any more progress regarding your RMA project Kinsy?

My Galaxy 7900GT has just packed in today :(
(colour's gone all sepia)

Perhaps OcUK might be able to give me some contact details for Galaxy as this was an OcUK card.

lmao what timing -was just musing over the 8800GTS earlier today...

[edit] Just looking at OcUK returns policy: For manufacturers who do not provide a direct service Overclockers UK will provide Technical Support and Returns service for up to 1 year from date of purchase.
-Does this mean OcUK will handle the RMA directly since Galaxy is not on their list for direct service?

Dont know for your card mate, if its a year old then your in.

3 mails and nothing so far.

I spoke to the distrubutor (Target) and their telephone monkey said he'd ask his supervisor and phone back. He didnt.

hmm.. card appears to have fixed itself

Must be on the way out I suppose...oh well, 2 1/2 more months in which to completely screw up before the warranty period is up.
