Any games on the horizon worth upgrading for?

Well, the 450 is coming, and apparently AMD are refreshing their 5xxxx line with a die shrink (so not "new" per se, but maybe slightly cooler and cheaper).
 
Doom 4 might be out before Rage (which is out next September). Doom will cripple your rig so maybe that is around the best point and reason to upgrade. The new Doom game may just be thee new benchmark.

seems a lot of folk here got a Q6600/4gig PC system and are 'thinking' of going corei7.

Why not just hold off another 6 months ?

Core i7-2 is due early 2011 ;) my Wallet would have a fit if I upgraded this Xmas only too see the next gen Intel cpus arriving few months afterwards.
