Any good ISPs offering unlimited 8mb?

Just ordered Evolution 8Mbit DSL Max. We're pretty close to the exchange so i'm hoping for 6-8Mbits! :p

On ADSLGuide it looks like Entanet (Evolution's provider) are pretty good for speed & pings, so fingers crossed I'll have a pretty sweet service by next week. I'll be sure to keep you guys posted. Because if it is as good as it promises, then £24.99 a month will be a bargain!

As long as they manage to attract a *lot* of low users to balance the high volume users they'll be OK, but with fewer and fewer places for these people to go it is more likely they will get too many of them and have to change the policy before too long.

Enjoy it while it lasts though.

Updates would be very welcome pleeeeease :p

I'm another fed up user of freedom2surf (since pipex took over)....

evolution dsl seems to good to be true!! - their AUP is the only possible hold-up - their t&cs are squeaky clean from what i could read.

lets hope f2s give me my MAC!

there are no real unlimited services in the true sense of the word. Most if not all companies monitor your usage and most will start to get stroppy if you start using too many of their precious GBs. The only truely unlimited ISP i have used is Demon. However they're being a tad slugish rolling out their maxADSL kit and hence have no 8 meg service...yet.

All this said unless you plan to download 400Gig a month then an standard "unlimited - not really big brother is watching you, but that's life" will suffice.

certainly no more than £30. - looking more for the £25 mark (but as low as possible)

the only reason i want to leave f2s, is their service has degraded so much over the last few months its become more than annoying.

i would go for nildram, zen or other well known very decent ISPs, but the price factor sets in, - as i need a static IP, and consistently hit about 30ish Gb/month.

Any other suggestions very welcome, but i *think* ive limited myself too much for my own good for any decently reviewed ISP to be what i want.

I want a mansion, I can only afford a rented flat springs to mind.

IDNet. They're excellent.

thats what i meant by limiting myself too much for any ISP/package to suit me.

I think IDnet would be pushing it for GB allowance.... bit too close for comfort - would rather have a larger safety net - minimum 50GB.

if nothing arises, and Evolution turns out to be rubbish, i'll probably stick with the cheapish service from f2s and wait with them for their possibly better network and have a 50gb cap. - if its no better, - i'll just have to pay more! :p

Thanks,
Alex

Not really, but it's nice to know incase we need to connect another site that our big US slave masters decide to buy on a whim that we don't ahve to install another stupidly expensive and irritating BT Megastream.

I might go with evolution, cheaper than £29.99 2mb on aol, only thing i'm bothered about is changing my e-mail addy on the sites i use

Re Evolution DSL (From a post on AG):

Q: Max DSL with no monthly limits seems like a dream offer.... if you don't mind me asking, how are you able to offer this service at such a cheap price (£24.99 per month)?

A: We are able to offer a truly unlimited service due to our partnership
with NetrinoUK, another company in our group. Netrino operate a tier 2
Internet backbone in London Docklands hosting many hundreds of servers
and providing connectivity to many other ISPs. Servers tend to use
connectivity in an outbound direction as opposed to ADSL lines which
tend to require inbound traffic. By combining the two services onto one
backbone network it essentially means we can utilise our connectivity
twice without incurring any further bills, instantly giving a 50%
saving. Couple this with the huge economies of scale already negotiated
by Netrino and you start to see how the figures can start to make a lot
more sense.

As this doesn't mention the extortionate charge of BT Centrals needed to keep up with the traffic, maybe they're Datastream? From my limited knowlege, I think Datastream doesn't use BTs Centrals.

i just called aol to get my mac code and they offered me a free wireless router and drop price to £24.99 for 8mb :) think i'll be sticking with them for a bit longer, and i also know they really are uncapped and have been for a long time

might be worth taking the risk for Evolution for a month to see how things go.

I was on a small ISP called Nahda a few months ago. £19.95 for unlimited 2mb, needless to say it went downhill pretty fast and in the end they gave me a mac code!

ive just signed up to this evolution deal.

will be cancelling the line in about 2-3 months anyway as im moving out of my flat, so if there is a problem it doesnt really matter.

will let you know how it turns out.

EDIT: i requested a MAC from f2s yesterday and today i phoned up and told they guy that does MACs was away today. so this guy did it himself for me.
