I'm learning to drive at the moment and have failed my test a few times already. It is no substitute for real life experience but I am looking for a good car driving sim on PC. Does anyone know of one?

I'd like it to be set in UK with realistic traffic conditions etc. Essentially a car driving sim with all the hazards etc found on UK roads.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 might be worth a look. Yes, you're driving lorries but it's the best 'real-life' driving I've experienced and you can drive without a trailer. I haven't played it much though to be honest... I'm sure others can advise better.

try euro truck simulator 2, just detach the trailer and it's like a big car, there's traffic lights, varying amounts of traffic, roadworks, speed restrictions, motorways, road signs, roundabouts, stalling, window wipers and lights and indicators, fines for speeding/crashing/driving with no lights on

and it's a fun game

Yep, this one is perfect for the job. It does have left-hand traffic, roundabouts, pedestrians, occasional dangerous drivers, traffic jams etc etc. The game has driving test like missions where it counts your traffic law violations. Plus it has fully working clutch and shifter physics, working mirrors and indicators, decent force feedback - perfect sim for the driving test. Must be played with a G27 wheel and trackIR for looking around for maximum effect.

My gf used it to practice parallel parking, hill starts, slow manoeuvring... it is awesome! :)

I was just Googling around and found one called 'City Car Driving', it bills its self as a sim. Might be worth a look...

The blurb on the website says:

The car driving game named "City Car Driving" is a new car simulator, designed to help users feel the car driving in а big city or in a country in different conditions or go just for a joy ride. Special stress in the "City Car Driving" simulator has been laid on variety of road situations and realistic car driving.

No idea if its any good, but still it might be worth a look. It supports TrackIR, so if you get that and a steering wheel it might be decent.

Its funny really, mundane things such as CCD and ETS2, that a lot of us do everyday, maybe not the large lorries of course, but driving in general. Yet they're so addictive when you play something like ETS2. I love the game, but can't understand why, driving from point A to point B. ;)
