Any issues with a 6850&6870 crossfire setup?

Hi guys,

Considering getting a HD6850 to supplement my current HD6870.

Was just wondering if there's any stability/compatibility problems that may arise with going for 2 different cards in this scenario?

Or am I better off stumping up the extra £30 and go with like for like?

Advice appreciated.

Cheers

I have 2 6870's so would go like for like as the price difference is not that much.I believe that the setup will always run at the speed of the slowest card, someone with more knowledge may know better than me,but 1 vote for 2 6870's :)

Wow thats awesome I've got the 0cuk 6870 and if i get the 6850 i can crossfire????
would it be twice as good and worth it???? could you combine an 6870 with an 6570??

cheers

Hi all,

Thanks for the answers, think i'll get a second 6870 for £125 that comes with 2 free games, sell them and have a decent setup for around £90 extra :)

GTO - I believe the only cards you can crossfire with a 6850 are the 6850 (obviously) and the 6870.

Thanks

Don't bother, I went crossfire 6870's and sent back my newest card, i was getting driver crashes and errors and BSOD's al over the place. After going back to one card I hardly notice a difference, my mates gtx 480 performed better than my 2x 6870's on most games I played. So pretty pointless if you ask me.

But Thats just me.
