I'm pretty sure XFX used to be alright with modifying, don't know whether they still are though.

not anymore.
i wanted to change a cooler on a HD 4770, i emailed XFX support and they said any tampering will void the warranty.

and yet going by on what i read on other forums, the yanks get a lifetime warranty and can change the cooler :(

doh. accidental revival, i was doing a search, and started reading this thread :o

Maybe we should get a list of manufactures that support HSF removal.

xtremedetailz, can you confirm POV allow HSF removal for the EU market ?

Surprised about EVGA europe, as they do allow removal of chipset cooling on motherboards. They had no problems with me removing the chipset heatsinks on a 680i mobo. Im also interested to see what gigabyte say about cooler removal on gpu's, ive contacted them but no reply as yet.

Yeah I sent one to HIS.

Could people confirm if they have a card fitted with tamper seals or thread lock ?

Other interesting news,

KFA 2 Stands for "Kick Friggin Ass" apparently

And in other news all PC gamers are 12 years old...

But good to know about POV.

Not sure why so many companies say 'yes you can remove the cooler if you're in NA', when I thought that the US was almost infamous for being a little thick...
