Supreme Commander : Forged Alliance is by far the best base building type RTS I've ever played. I'f you've never given it a whirl, I highly recommend it!

get yourself Total Anhialation and ta core contingency..... hours and hours of lan fun to be had even though they are the best part of 10 years old...

stronghold 3 out soonish might turn out to be decent

anno 1404 I agree is tremendous but more of a sim city style game but highly addictive the hours just fly by
