Any Rumours on when the 8800 Refresh is likely to be?

Considering selling my current card due to lack of time for gaming.
But would be buying a high end card at the end of the summer when I head back to Uni, Hoping the 8900s will be out by then.
What dates are rumours pointing to at the moment?

October-ish I believe. Most likely later, not before. Although no one really knows, I'm just going from when previous refreshes were released.

EDIT: Didn't read what you were saying about the 8900s, they aren't going to be made. As said below, they are going straight to G92.

There will be no 8900
This autumn they are going straight out and launching G90 - the high end ones.
Spring 2008 should see them launch the mid range G90 cards.
The Geforce 8800 Ultra was the last G80 card.
G90 is a big revamp from what I hear, with considerably better DX10 performance

it is the G92 but the core is still a 9 series so doesnt really matter if its called a G90, i just say nextgen. But these G92 GPU's will feature pci-e 2.0 hwich is a realy pain as usual, apparently they work on regular pci-e slots but not to their full potential, oh well i guess their will be some benchies coming out that shows its performance in pci-e 2 and 1.

how much of a leap in performance will the new cards have over the current ones?
Nobody knows. There are rumors of 1TFlop of calculating power. If that's true based on the way they've quoted Flops before then possibly as much 80% more floating point power, 50% more shaders? Basically dunno.

alll speculation, not much point in going into it too much atm really, best to just wait nearer to the time when you get 'benchmarks' leaked etc etc

Apparently there's a Dual G80 8950GX2 coming out sometime. Have a read of this. I know it's the Inquirer and it's mostly about the GPGPU thingy, but down the bottom there is mention of the dual G80.
