I am heading off to Turkey next month, Kas to be precise and I need some snorkeling gear to take with me.

I know it is a long shot, but can anybody advise me on good kits etc? I have been looking on simplysnorkel etc, but have no idea what are good brands etc.

Need the full works and want to spend around £50.

Just got back from Kefalonia and snorkelled everyday as the water everywhere is crystal clear. Just bought cheap snorkels for 10 euros which were absolutely fine.

I bought two of these sets for me and my girlfriend when we went to the Maldives a few years ago. Really good quality and we've used them on many other holidays since.

That is the kind of thing I am looking at. Cheers for the heads up will take a look. :)

I want something pretty decent as I am out there my my dad and his missus (it is his 65th) and they are keen snorkelers with good kit. Am planning on spending a lot of time in the water so need something comfortable and good.

They are very comfortable. The snorkel is great because it has a purge valve for emptying it if it fills up with water.

A Cressi Big Eyes evo mask and a half decent snorkel will be good

probs also good to get some cheapy but comfortable fins too and maybe a thin shortie wetsuit but thats not essential

I would love to be able to freedive. I did some diving in thailand and snorkelling in australia & fiji. Its suprising what you can see when you freedive just 5 metres down

On of the guys with us in australia was a free diver, he snorkelled down into a crack, disappeared for about 2 minutes then came out another tiny crack. Awesome (but very dangerous if you dont know what you are doing)

Everyone loves diving into cracks ;)

Don't forget to get the snorkel with the wing mirrors on that point behind and down, they give you just enough time to smile before the shark takes a bite out of you...

if it fits your face...

OP go look for a mask in a dive shop if you want decent equipment. That way it will fit you properly.
