For those of you who haven't seen it:

http://www.bt.com/broadband/bb_info.jsp?s_cid=FURL-broadband

I've just gone from BT Broadband Option 4 (29.99pcm) to BT Total Broadband Option 3 (26.99pcm).

Save 3 quid a month plus get some interesting looking FREE hardware (BT Home Hub + Handset).

I wonder where abouts these Wi-fi spots are going to be?

Anybody else upgraded/signed up?

Just seen this thread now.

Yeah I've taken it up, ordered it on Thursday, gone for the Option 3 and should be delivered on 5th July.

Looking forward to it, although I haven't a clue where that HUB is gonna go. Based on the size of the 1010 VOIP phone in it's holder, that HUB is gonna be a fair old size!

When is yours due?

My parents are on the old option 2 (6GB usage allowance), but we're trying to figure out if it works out more cost-effective in the long run to get the new option 2 (same 6GB, but with the free boradband calls and wireless router).

They've just spent £80-odd on a Netgear RangeMax router so I'm not sure they're too tempted by the free router BT are giving out.

It's a bit confusing to be honest, there's so many superscript numbers next to everything. Will have to sit down later and figure out if it's worth it.

The only 2 questions I can't seem to find an answer to are:

If the £26.99pm is with or without the standard rental fee.
If the VOIP goes towards your bandwidth.

BT Broadband is separate, the same way any other ISP is - you've got to pay for the voice service "separately".

Taken from BT's site
Does BT Broadband Talk count towards my BT Broadband usage allowance?

Your monthly BT Broadband usage won't be affected if you use BT Broadband Talk.

bt are mcuking my lass about good an propper at the moment,

Were moving into a place shared, ordered the bt option 4, 1 day before this new product went live. they didnt advise us of the new product and when i called them back asking to have it changed to the new stuff they said no, couldnt be done.

Funny *&^%£$% called them this morning canceled the install and the purchase.

Just called them back and ordered the new stuff. Why oh why do they have to try to cause so much stress and grief???

well an update for you,

my lass has just heard back from bt, they apologiesed for mucking us about, they have switched us to option 3, the new toys will be with us in 10 days time, and for the hassel the first 3 months will be 9.99.

so not too bad after all. 9.99 for option 3. (3 months only, but every little helps)

But isn't it £9.99 for the first 3 months anyway?!?!?... That advert with the Bloke from 'My Family' ends with this offer!.. (I think!)

as said above,

its 9.99 for option 1, not 3 :D so not a bad result. unless they give us option 1 for the first 3 months lol.

Then i will be on the war path!!!

should be 22.99 for the first 3 months on option 3.

Probably find the kit is rubbish anyways and end up buying a decent router.

I noticed that the home hub has only 2 ethernet ports on the bottom that are usable, 1 if you go with the ip tv which is being released later.

I shouldnt have a problem running the 1 port to a switch i hope lol.

If so the xbox will have to go wireless, the laptops are already, but i like my pc to be wired.

Has anyone got their hands on one of the hubs yet?

Does it have the ability to put a machine in the DMZ?
