Also, I have to laugh at the way BT are managing to sell people a VoIP product while still collecting standard line rental fees. The sooner that's unbundled, the better.
I think arguably it's because you're using their line for broadband anyway. But 2 lines > 1 tbh.Caged said:Also, I have to laugh at the way BT are managing to sell people a VoIP product while still collecting standard line rental fees.
Unless you're on the phone for hours a day then the VOIP bandwidth usage will be negligable. VOIP on the GSM codec only uses ~60 Kbit/s. G.711 is the high quality codec and that uses a lot more.~J~ said:The only 2 questions I can't seem to find an answer to are:
If the £26.99pm is with or without the standard rental fee.
If the VOIP goes towards your bandwidth.

~J~ said:Well according to BT's website, my telephone and/or postcode has a 4.5mb capability (even though the exchange is 8mb).
WITHOUT the hub, I get a speed of 4.3, however with the hub that speed is increased to 7.1, so there maybe some trickery inside the hub that increases the speed. Unless BT have a hack in the hub that fools the user![]()
