Any WINAVI users here??-Is it possible to set output avi file size?

Hi ,

I have some video files that were saved as mp4 format and want to convert them to .avi so they play on my standalone DIVX player but when I convert them with WINAVI the file size increases from 700mb to over 850mb.
I can't for the life of me see a way to change the size of an output avi..

Anyone know how to set the file size to 700mb?

Try using autogk, it's what i use for encoding.

Used it after I couldn't get WinAVI to work properly actually.

You can change the quality in the advanced options, will obviously reduce picture quality as well as file size though .

Cheers Tombo will have a look at that..

Kidloco, the advanced options don't allow you to set a file size and so it would involve a lot of guesswork in settings to try to get a file of 700mb (so it fits on a cd).

Also the original video is only 45 minutes long and so should easily fit on a cd once encoded. WINAVI would be better if it had a button saying "fit to cd" or something like that.
