Anybody else who has never had an interest in fireworks?

Don't really have an interest in fireworks. But I do like it when they do the displays.

I am massively into fireworks, I am not 100% sure why guess I just love the noise and effects. Nothing like sending up something big and feeling the sound wave hit your chest.

agreed :) just somethings people like somethings people dont.

i dont see it as a waste of money because i get enjoyment out of it.

They really don't do anything for me either.

If I was able to see an epic display (Lewes for instance, and I only live 20 minutes away but haven't been), then maybe I'd be a little more interested.

Firework displays are alright because you pay £5 to get in and you see a lot of them going off. Lots of people enjoy it together in one place and that's money well spent. It's when you're paying £50 to let them off in your own garden I think it becomes a waste. I've always liked Guy Fawkes as an event though, more so than Hallowe'en. To me, Hallowe'en is just making sure that I don't get trick-or-treated. You go on deviantART and it's written in peoples' journals for like a whole month in the run-up to Hallowe'en, yet you don't see a sausage on Guy Fawkes.

I can't go near them.

My mate got blown up in an accident at work whilst working for the MoD. He survived but as it was 2 to an office - I was his office mate.

Any massive bang gives me memories of him blistering up and being taken to hospital to be wrapped in plastic bags to keep germs from the burns.

I don't buy them, nor do I actively go out to watch them.
But I like them, I love the array of lights and the thunderous boom, just like how I love thunder and lightning, to me fireworks are the next best man-made thing.

Dislike people who moan and complain about it and want them to stop.
I understand the pets thing but it's your choice in owning a pet knowing full well what happens all year around.

Didnt like them as a child because my dad was in a bit of an accident at a bonfire when he was younger and we were never allowed to go when young, in my teens I did enjoy Trentham or Fenton displays but when I had my little one the fears of what my dad told me kept me from going with her.
Saw some fireworks Saturday night (mini bonfire/display) but we kept our distance as some idiots were throwing their own fireworks into the bonfire (before they were removed from the park) but the actual display was nice to "ooh" and "ahh" over hehe :D

In zimbabwe i was always more interested in actual detonative explosives than fireworks.

the satisfaction derived from turning a massively annoying anthill into a pile of rubble in a single *boom* cannot be overstated :D
