And before you ask i dont mean the feathered bird :p

Im getting rather annoyed with the bluetooth earpiece in my car and as the law is changing on the usage of phones in the car i think its worth investing in a decent car kit.

Looking around there seems some decent kits which plug into your car stereo and allow you download your phone book into. They are also bluetooth so now wires etc.

So has anyone got one, and what do you think of them?

I installed a Parrot CK3100 in my A8. Excellent kit although the annoying american woman's voice telling me what menu I had selected was turned off immediately (It's Zed goddamnit not Zee).

Meh, I just like stuff to work right.

It's a very good kit and easy to fit. Looks quite good too, not over the top and not obviously aftermarket either.

I fitted the 3200LS (Colour version) into my previous passat with no problems.

Main problem was routing the microphone to the interior light position. Took me 5 mins to de-install when I sold the car at the weekend!

In the new year I'm looking to move it to the alfa if it's compatible. I reccomend a website Sio Communictions who have a forum that I've used for both my car kit installations in the past!

With the 3200LS I even reflashed it via bluetooth to upgade the firmware with no problems.

Main issue was where to locate the display!

I dont want the 3200 personally, its too big and looks too flash, which would encourage the local chavs to break in :(

I have seen SIO comms, they do all the looms etc, but im just going to chop into the wires and solder it all instead, i aint paying £25 for a poxy bunch of wires :p

I ave a CK3100 but had to fit the optional speaker rather than route through car speakers, as everytime the volume was turned up on the stereo, the parrot kicked off...

Other than that, its a nice kit..

:D

I wasn't necessarily recommending the shop, more the forums for any help!

For me there was no adaptor needed. Unplug ISO connectors from back of the stereo, plug them into the parrot loom, plug the parrot iso connectors back into the stereo, jobs a good one!

I had the kit located down at the bottom of the centre console, when off nobody would have known what it was!
