I have just purchased my first off road bike - a Beta Rev3 trials bike.
I used to watch trials all the time when I was younger, my dad was competition secretary for the local 'bike club, and I used to really enjoy it.
Looking forward to getting started!

I was chatting with one of the guys from the local trials club the other week. Actually quite tempted to pick up a second hand bike and give it a go.

I've joined a local trials club, that way I can legally practice whenever I like, I'll probably enter some events too.

Just look for green laning tracks

edit:
http://www.greenlanefinder.com/

That is a frankly terrible map, it would imply there are zero greenlanes (or BOATs - byways open to all traffic) in Kent, when in fact there's a big one near me (Pilgrims way) that stretches for many miles.

It doesn't have Salisbury plain on there either!! That's probably the biggest group of greenlanes in the UK.

This map is far more accurate. http://www.bywaymap.com/index.html

The green ones are lanes you can ride on.

I did a quick google, sadly didnt stick around to check it over

Does anyone know a website that lists green lanes and says which ones are worth venturing out to and their difficulty?
With living in London I have to make a bit of an effort to get out to green lanes and then the ones I've tried have been rutted above my pegs and barely rideable.
