as per title really

misses informs me that we've won a 32" Sony LCD HD ready TV. Slighty problem however, and thats that our room is much too big for a 32". Already got my eye on the 40" Sony X3500 thats due out in a couple of weeks

sooo

what do i do with the Sony ? after seeing the 30" imac pros, im wondering if its possible with a HDTV. All the benefits of size, but without having to have the ball busting resolution of the Dell 3007

anybody done anything similar, does it work ?

As Zefan said, they are a bit low for general use however as a second monitor for some gaming and video they are brilliant.

I've got used to it (the low resolution). Problem is I'm about 1 foot away from a 32" HDTV thanks to wired keyboard/mouse. Probably not very good for the eyes.

I first read it as you room was to small. The 32" screen will be perfectly adequate, just sit closer to it. :D

I got rid of my two LCDs recently ready to get a new one (or two i don't know), and my 32" HDTV is straight above my desk on the wall where my PC is so I'm using that as a monitor at the moment until i decide which LCD I'm getting, to start with it was a little weird not having the vertical resolution but I don't even notice it now.

Native res for mine is 1360x768, the only problem you might have is sitting too close to it, if mine was on my desk I would probably have killed my eyes by now, but its up on my wall so I'm not too close.

Ayy, i still have a 21" tv so 32" would be massive to me. How can a room be too big for a tv? That makes no sense :p

I have a dell 24" and a samsung 37" R87 next to each other, the samsung is surprisingly good for surfing etc. but I wouldn't want to have to use it all the time!

Ditched my everyday rig for a laptop back in Feb, and got a Sharp 37" LCD as a main TV, which made the Samsung 32" R74 I was using redundant. As I only use my main PC for gaming, sold my 22" Mirai Monitor and am now using the Sammy as a PC monitor.

Fantastic for gaming, Pro Evo 6 and MS Flight Sim are awesome on the big screen :D

whats so bad about the res i have my heart set around fwb 2008 to buy a pioneer 8G 42" plasma just for the blacks :D

would it be bad to use as a pc monitor sitting at say 6ft away?

sure its low res 1280x720 i think but they say its superb picture quality i thought it would be perfect with games.

like lost planet dx 10 kinda struggling on my 8800 gtx maxed out 4xmsaa 16x af dropping res to 1280x800 solved it and its smooth as butter

what u all reckon

I am using a Hyundai 32" widescreen as a monitor and its stunning once you get used to it. Desk top res is 1920 x 1080 and most games seem to play at 1280 x 1024. :)
