I think I like the idea of the new SE m600 but am wondering how well that qw er ty ui op keyboard will work...

Basically has anyone had any experience with such a keypad?

The m600 and Blackberry keyboards work in different ways.

On the Blackberry, it's one key and it guesses what word you're typing like predictive text.

On the m600, you can press the left side for the left letter and the right side of the button for the right letter (or anywhere on the button for the number). The keys look quite bit and are shaped to make it easier, but I can't really comment on how well it works since I've yet to try one.

Oh, that doesnt sound so good; would probably irritate the hell out of me...

I'll probably get the p990i instead... shame it's so much bigger tho

Thanks

I have one at work, takes a bit of getting used to but the auto text function does most of the work when typing. For me it does a pretty good job of it. One of those things you'll like or dislike.

my dad has the choice of getting one at work, he says its good but you really need to get used to the new keyboard system.

^^^ You guys on about the Sony M600 or the Blackberry 7100??

The Sony has rocker keys so they are independent in all but form, apparantly not as good as a proper qwerty keyboard but much better than the system on the 7100

Blackberry 7100... I had one (work requirement) and I couldn't get on with the keyboard. Switched to the 7290 instead. Also the 710 screen is crap in bright light - you can't see a thing.
