Anyone been to Alcudia, Majorca?

Hey guys,

Ive just booked a holiday for me and the girlfriend to majorca in Alcudia. didnt fancy palma nova or magaluf (shagaluf :p ) tbh! So is Alcudia very touristy or more majorcan and traditional? Ive seen some photos and it looks fairly nice!

Had a great holiday there last year, we were a bit further out but went into Alcudia quite a few times, been there twice now.
 
I was in Alcudia last year. We had a big family holiday, and stayed in a Complex all inclusive, it wasn't the best place, good food, but a bit of a mare with all the kids running riot all over the place. I think one of the Hotels was called Jupiter where we stayed and it was very clean in the rooms. The port side of Alcudia, and the old town are the best parts, if I was ever to go back that is where I would stay.

The worst part of Alucida is the beaches, they are in a right state, full of rubbish and old butt ends all over the place, totally disgusting :(
 
Few years ago, hated it completely, too english for my liking, like the majority of Spanish tourist resorts, it's a bit sad really :(
 
Just come back from there. Nice place, was totally dominated by english tourists which is either good or bad, depending on if you like mixing with people from other countries. Very much a place to go if you've got kids.
 
Majorca's starting to get too touristy. A few years ago you could walk along pollenca bay. These days, it's covered with sun loungers. Menorca's much better, but it's starting to go the same way. :(.

must have changed since I last went, was full of Germans
 
I went just after September 11th happened and it was lovely then... though I had my purse stolen :(

The beach was nice back then, and we did a couple of day trips to Palma and one to BCM, and there was a restaurant named after me :)

We stayed on a resort, but I can't remember which one.

im off there with the girlfriend in 3 weeks, staying in the port area rather than the main inland area cause apprently its nicer.
