Anyone been to St Lucia last week or so or there now?

Off to St Lucia next week, just wondered if anyone has been there last week or so, whats the situation.

Virgin haven't decided if I can cancel yet (they will decide about Sat for a very early Tues Am flight), so I don't have a lot of time to decide to go or not if I get the option to cancel and book somewhere else.

My hotel claims its fine, but its the opposite end of the island from the main airport. It sounded like the road network was trashed in places and Virgin were saying they were doing airport transfers by 4x4 up until yesterday.

Anyone?

Not been, would love to go however. Your post isn't very clear, I presume it has been hit by a hurricane or bad storm?

Edit: Just been reading up about it. It's left a lot of damage by the looks of things! Personally, I would go somewhere else. The weather will likely improve in a short space of time having been in tropical storms myself, but the damage will take time to sort. If Virgin are saying the roads in/out are badly effected, then that's the warning sign. That would suggest there are problems getting supplies in and out and all sorts.

Friend of mine was there when the storms hit. Was stuck there for over a week as the main airport was destroyed. All a bit of a mess over there at the minute I believe.
