Anyone buy a Gigabytee GTX275 on this week only? A cautionary tail.

Well I bought one (ironically to replace a faultly 4870) trouble is it will only give me a monitor signal 50% of the time on a cold boot, and never on a warm boot. After a bit of looking around on the net it seems that this card is just generally shagged from the factory:

If your thinking of buying one don't! I'm currently sitting here with 2 faulty cards wondering what the hell to do.....I'll probably wait to see if gigabyte want to send me an updated bios (there isn't one out at the moment) thats even if it can be fixed by a bios update....then see what OCUK can do for me if they can't.

certainly the bfg for extra £5 looks a good deal, always had good cards from them.

Why dont you DSR Them and get something else. Its a bit shocking so many seem b0rked.

I would'nt be sitting around hoping for an updated bios i would be sending it back.

No need to DSR if they're faulty, just send them back as faulty and u wont have to pay postage.

Heard nothing back from gigabyte today so will be asking ocuk for an RMA.

Always RMA goods to the Retailer as the first choice option. Your contract is with the retailer and you can always state DSR regs or get your credit card company to intervene if you are not entirely happy with goos or service.

Post in the customer support forum and we'll sort you out. We've sold lots of these so far due to the great price point and not had any complaints so far.

there is never 100% success rate in any batch of cards manufactured there is always bound to be one or 2 or more that is bad, you just got unlucky.

hi, rma? bought a 260 recently and i think i have this problem.i updated the drivers for it to the latest 1s lastnight and today it seem's to think i have 2 screens? meaning when it happens my screen goes into super wide mode.normaly recycle bin is in left corner but it goes to the centre of screen and nothing is on the right.
gonna try old drivers and see if any options have changed, but it sounds like the same thing (or around there) as the 275 cards have ?

seems to be a problem when rebooting warm.goes into daul desplay and then i can do nothing.

mel d that is exactly the problem, I thought it was just a signal issue, but my card also thinks its dual display when it isn't, obvisluy picking the wrong one on boot etc.

I can drag things off the right of the desktop..on to an extra screen I don't have!

Going to raise it with ocuk tonight and get this thing RMA'd.

and with an rma can you change the product ? might try a 4890.

I recieved my one of these yesterday, and fortunatly for me it works perfectly! Could it be certain motherboard combos causing these problems?

I think you will get a refund, which means you can go ahead and buy whichever card you want. I just placed an order for a BFG GTX 275, which should arrive tomorrow

Basically, I only buy BFG now (and I know that means NVidia cards only) but their warranty/RMA process is absolutely fabulous. You ship your damaged card off to Wales and usually the same week you get an identical or better card back.

And as the warranty is 10 years, it's like gift that keeps giving
