Anyone donate to their guild/clan

When I can, although I do a lot of server/website work so they are grateful for that. I've written a few sourcemod scripts for profit, one of which I donated the earnings to my community :)
 
Donating is good as long as its not compulsory, if I was you and you felt like you wanted to help I would donate, what you said a £5 every 2 or 3 months.

Its more than the money it has a bonding effect felt by everyone.
 
I used to help run a COD clan. We had a good few donating members, but every now and again when numbers were short, there was 3 of us who would donate £20pm each.

That was when I was massively "into COD gaming" - whih may occur again when I get my new OC PC lol.
 
when i was a clan leader we tried to divide it as evenly as possible - this meant in the clans high period members were paying only 49p a month for 4 servers and voice!! bargin

normally i just asked for a couple of quid and most people didnt have a problem with that.

i have issues with clans charging £5+ a month for services and as such will contribute but not a regular basis...i spend a lot on games as it is :)
 
ive ran a l4d and now l4d2 clan for 18 months or so and have never asked for donations, started with 1 modded server and it grew from there, i use a free mumble server for voice comms for admins and added 1 for members as i cant see or hear much difference between ts3 or mumble.......its only been the last month or so where a couple of folks have donated towards it and ive been playing with them for 12 months or so.......it does help when folks donate but i also ask how they want the money spending..on extra servers etc.....i just enjoying playing with folks and meeting new folks who might eventualy become good online friends and admins.......

we pay roughly £46 a quater for 4 l4d2 servers and a free webhost, which contains a forum and the custom l4d2 player stats......

We had a fairly high cost base and lost a lot of members on a couple of occasions - leading to a few of us paying loads to keep the clan going.

We bought a brand new website, TS, and had COD 2, 4, and WAW servers running. Had a dedibox with 'x'' amount of servers - the amount escapes me now.

The costs were lowered as soon as more contibuters became involved.

Couldn't afford that nowadays!

my old WoW guild that i was in. We agree'd between the officers that we'd all pay for the ventrillo server/domain/website between us, it wasn't much at all between 6 of us.

we never asked members to donate at all, and never advertised on our website for donations. shouldn't be any need unless you have a website that needs constant maintainance.
