Anyone done any time-lapse photography?

I'm thinking of making a time-lapse video for our website, to demonstrate us performing a task over a period of 4hrs or so.

Have any of you guys here done anything similar? I need to get a Canon TC80N3 intervalometer or similar - again ebay has a multitude of Canon and lookalike devices ranging from £25 to £100!

Hint/tips/advice most welcome! Thanks in advance :cool:

What about tethering to the laptop with DSLR pro remote?

Could do but I'd rather not take my laptop out on-site.

http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK 3rd party firmware (turn camera off and its back to original firmware) with scripting support, has a time-lapse script.

I made a timelapse by using the 10-second delayed release built in to the camera. Press the shutter, wait for it to take the shot, press the shutter again.

But I've got the timer now, for the next one... Much less hassle.

There was a thread on here some guy had done it from the back seat of his car at night looked really good esp with all the light changes.
