Anyone else feel like they have spent way too much?

I think I have probably spent close to that on fine dining and alcohol fuelled nights out. Its been a great year.

Spending loads at the moment, and don't have that much to show for it... live with my girlfriend and have all our money in shared accounts... very scary!

Make the joint account a bills account and get your own. Will save a lot of hassle down the road

Is this willy-waving provocation thread?

I put my heating up an extra degree tonight, that probably means I've spent 98.45% of my salary.

Unemployed student with no source of income excluding a monthly £90 bursary from SAAS. Job hunt was fruitless and my biggest expenditure was train fair until I started walking to my university!

Still scrounging off my mum :p

Similar to this, although managed to spend ~2-2.5k this year.

hmm not sure where i got 70 from. its about 20%. Running costs would be about 50% Why i wrote 70% god only knows. :/

Hmmm...

£500 holiday
£200+ to see an ex (train tickets)
£1000 volunteering

And the small matter of £16k on my uni course...

Not much then... :(

Was the £500 to holiday with a beloved old Aunty?

Well the £200 was 2-3 train tickets (only those that occured in the first two months of this year) when she was still a GF, not an ex. :p (Don't want to know how much I spent seeing her after we finished uni :/)

The £1000 for volunteering was really just the flights and 2 stays in Boston, didn't pay anything for the volunteering! Either way tbh my biggest spend is a year of uni, but hopefully it will pay back itself if I get a job from it...

Oh and the £500 holiday was a week skiing in Chamonix... ;) Just in time really, as the ex broke up with me the week before, nothing like taking your mind off things like throwing yourself down a mountain!

Hello All,

Recently checked my outgoings and incomings and I have found that I have managed to spend £3000-£4000 this year on my TV, Blu Ray Player, Blu-Ray DVDs, replacement Car, Car Parts, Holidays, Concert Tickets, Christmas Presents, New PC Parts and settling a Debt (long story short, former 'Friend' screwed me over, not my fault) and I have not put any of that in Savings..

Feel a little gutted about it really and 2010 started so well!

Guess my New Years Resolution is going to be to save much more money, starting with my December Pay Cheque.

Anyone else feel like they have spent a bit much this year?

I call that a result, try living with my wife and kids for a year :)

ive spent around 70% of my wages on Petrol. I really need to stop driving (or get a better job).

I am lucky i work at home mostly, if i had to commute anywhere i would have to sell my car and that would make me quite sad, i could see how someone could end up in that situation though.

No. I've saved more than I've spent this year...and I hope a lot more next year.

Me too. I really cut down on my spending this year and it feels great. There were loads of things which I really wanted to buy (new TV, iPhone 4, new car and loads of gadgets, etc) but I managed to convinced myself that it was all unnecessary and a waste.

Spend £6k on a car a few weeks ago... Loads of other random carp, but that was by far the biggest purchase!
