Anyone else find sigs really annoying?

They are not annoying at all here, well policed in that they are not huge and take up loads of space. They are discrete enough to not be annoying, but large enough to give the boards a bit of character. I can't think of a better system for this forum, they look tidy and the Gangster avatars are excellent too.

After a while you get to know people by their signatures and you can quite easily just flick through the forums to pick out people whom you have seen before.

It just gives people that little dash of individuality.
 
I think they add a nice touch of personality to the forums but are tightly ruled enough not to get silly, which reminds me - I need to change mine
 
If it has the option I turn avatars and signatures off on almost every forum I go on, but in particular those that are bigger. I used to like it but now I don't really see the point.
Thankfully Vbulletin gives the option to show/hide them in the settings.
 
People mainly use them to brag about what computer specs they have and what car they have, but they aren't that annoying, just turn them off if you don't like them. Some sigs with quotes in are funny.

The most annoying thing is when people 'sign off' every single post they make, so utterly pointless.
 
on here they are great, easy and fast way to identify user. They are small and well regulated. Other forums is a different case though.
Also as said just go to user settings and turn sigs off, rather than blocking them.
 
I used to post regularly on a forum where pics in sigs was simply not allowed, but avatars and text sigs were ok.

I didnt think it detracted in any way, I'm also indifferent about the sigs on here as theres a sensible size limit.

Oh I dont like those sig bar things in some places, they look pretentious.

Oddly it's probably more of a problem recently than it has been for a few years with the rise in people browsing on phones/netbooks.

Personally I don't appreciate lots of big signatures but that's not a problem on this forum especially when you can simply turn them off entirely. They do help to identify some posters and can be interesting to look at or get clues about someones personality.
 
If I was using mine to brag about my specs, I'd have a much better PC! Never the less, I'm proud of it.

Sigs give an identifying factor to posters, brighten up the otherwise incredibly plain and dull forums. Some forums have too much freedom though, here is about right.

EDIT: Also they let me find my posts.

Yeah I wish I could turn sigs of in user CP but just for mobile devices. Although saying that it's not much of a problem anymore on smart phones compared to a few years ago.
