I'm in Wolverhampton.
Anyone else having slow download speeds and high pings on the 50 meg Virgin service?
I'm getting 3 meg download and mega high pings. :eek::eek::mad::mad:
 
I get high pings now and then, i swear when i torrent or download anything, after i get lower pings, wierd, only getting 20mb download, i say only.
 
He Speirs, I am also in Wolverhampton area (Tettenhall) and on 10mb Virgin, I've noticed now for the past week or so, in the evenings my pings on servers are always 70/100 (mainly play cs) where as they use to be sub 40 - this has been going on for a good week now and seems to happen only in the evenings, its like being back on 56k

are you experiencing anything like this?

Yes mate, the same plus my 50 meg connection goes down to below 5 meg.

Well what you have wrote above is a load of bull.
Just come off phone to tech support and the bloke had a look and did a
few things and said it's over utilisation of the UBR. He said he was
seeing 99% load and could not do anything about it!!!!
So why am I'm being fed a load of bull??

I have just posted this after speaking to one of their techs from an overseas call centre they use.

I HAVE BEEN ONTO PHONE TECH AND GONE THROUGH THE USUAL CRAP OF THIS AND THAT
AND THE OTHER!
HE SAID OVER UTILISATION OF THE UBR!!
I SAID NOT AGAIN!!
I SAID GIVE ME THE DETAILS AS I HAD THIS LAST NIGHT AND THAT THEY WERE
LOOKING AT THE WRONG ONE!!
HE GAVE ME THE 5/0/0........
I READ OUT THE wolv-cmts-14 cable 5/0/0 AGAIN TO HIM AND HE SAID 'YES THAT IS THE ONE.'
THE ONE THAT YOU SAID THAT I AM CONNECTED TO AND THE ONE THAT HAS NO PROBLEMS!!!
NOW.....
GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS TO WHY YOU ARE BULL ****TING ME AND TO WHERE I CAN TAKE THIS FURTHER TO MANAGEMENT LEVEL AS I AM FED UP NOW!!

Your a mighty abusive customer Speirs, I'd be surprised if anyone wanted to help you :/

I'm fed up of being nice now.
I've spoken to that many techs nicely now that have fed me bull that I am past being nice.
Icing on the cake was that the tech was looking at the wrong UBR.
Would they accept that I tried to pay them from the wrong bank account, the one that had no money in?? :)
I don't think so.
 
Your cutting off your nose to spite your face though as your the one whose going to end up worse off when they refuse to respond due to the abuse.

If you don't believe me then see how sympathetic Ofcome are of your case when you tell them that Virgin won't help you with your slow broadband due to being abusive.
