Anyone got a physx by ageia card ?

Unreal 3, crysis which DOES support this card i dont care what anyone says ive tested it and there was a difference before it was in and after, and pretty much any game thats got physics, i think its great, and what nvidia are going to do with intergrating physx in to there gforce cards is stupid, a gpu should be for graphics only and a ppu is dedicated to doing physx, so i think personally nvidia are going to **** up, unless they just bought ageia out so they can stick the Nvidia logo on the ppu's.

Cool, I presume in Crysis it just makes things a lot smoother when theres trees and buildings being obliterated etc?

I don't think it's official support....otherwise it would have some form of splash screen at startup. Or atleast force you to install the drivers etc.

rubbish. the way that the PPU works, the game/software must be specifically coded to utilise its capabilities.

Could come in handy ;-)

any game that has physics use the ppu, ive played many games without the ppu and then with and have noticed a difference even if its just a 5fps difference, games ive noticed a difference in so far-

Crysis
Unreal III
Stalker
Battlefield series
Gears of war
Call of duty 4
Half life 2+
Bioshock

And thats all ive gotten through so far, but it does make a difference i dont give a tiny rats a** what anyone says, it works and it works well.

Maybe Ageia are finally realising what I said a few months back and incorporating it in they're drivers for once? Which was for the card to almost 'detect' when tehres physics in use and for it to 'help' the way they work....Ahh well keep wishing I guess.

I'd be willing to test, just don't fancy spending 50 quid on the card!

You would think if that was the case, as it would be a major selling point, that ageia would be shouting this from the rooftops.

you cant use a physix card unless your software is written for it. physix cards dont just pick up on something that might be physics processing and accellerate it lol
