Anyone had a temp job under 16 hours and claimed JSA?

Whereas I worked there from leaving school to finishing University and enjoyed it.

Guess it depends where you work.

Similar: started as Christmas temp in lower sixth form, got a permanent place after, went practically full time for a year after college, carried on during holidays whilst at uni and until I got a proper career job. Good memories.

OP, it may only be 8h a week, but let me tell you that after some temps don't turn up on their first day and people get ill, etc, you will most likely end up with more hours if you can manage it.

1/ Work 8 hours a week making - £47. which is £188 a month TAKE AWAY from my JSA so would get £12 JSA to top me upto £200

Anyone done this before?

Correct.

You will need to inform the job center if you do more hours in a week then you tell them. That's where it becomes a hassle. A big hassle.

Might have to do this myself actually. I've got one 6 hour shift next week, minimum wage and 20% tax! I doubt i'll make enough to cover the petrol and parking tbh
