Anyone had any dealings with Mountune or Dreamscience

aye you resetting the counter on those trips?

yeah on every fill and the long trip is about 400 miles so I have to fill part way.

I had someone tell me I must be wrong the last time I said I managed 33MPG on a run quite easily.

I often wonder if it is a combination of ignorance and driving style.

Well, I wasn't saying you're wrong and I don't consider myself ignorant or stupid and christ knows I get bored on these trips to the point where I try things like playing with the economy. The only thing I can think is that you (that's collective, I don't mean you personally.. and I certainly mean I as I've tried) can't achieve that sort of mpg whilst cruising at 85mph plus. I've tried staying off the boost but the one thing I won't try is driving around at 70mph because I'd want to kill myself by the time I got to bicester.

I didn't buy this car then stick about 30-40 extra horses under the bonnet to obey the speed limit :)

I did much 80+ cruising.

Tyres or your driving style. Little tip, try the trip with 'Instant consumption' on the trip computer - you'll learn when that extra bit of throttle, or 2-3 MPH is costing you a lot in fuel consumption :)

I've got moutnune on my ST and the catback, got it for £999 when they had the offer last month. Exhaust was £400

The sound is awesome!! brings the car alive......

my mate gets awful MPG normally, its only because he was following me, and i told him to stay off boost as much as possible, and not to brake, but engine brake etc that he gained so much mpg. He would normally get low 20s on such a trip. My main reason was I didn't want to stop off for petrol on the way lol. Also, he isnt a speeder so you cant blame him cruising at 90+ causing his poor mpg. I think his main problem is every time he pulls away its like a start of a GP. :D

Yeah, it's bascially a pipe that takes noise from the engine bay, and up to the wipers, lol. Mines in the loft, makes the engine bay look a lot neater, also saved me having to buy a fitting kit for the DV.

I get 25mpg when driving economically :'(

Average per tank is about 21-22mpg :(

When motorway driving I find it quite hard to stay off boost (and I mean it when I'm really trying not to!), 'theoretically :D' cruising at 80, just to try and keep it up at that speed, feathering the throttle tickles the boost guage even in 6th :/

I did slap a K&N in there like a chav, I think this might have affected fuel economy, does that sound right?

Hmm may need to talk to you about that then :p

Just bought a Milltek de-cat, another job waiting to be done!

Custom i think, have a Turbo off of a RS that a lad at work is sorting out for me so would need a remap above and beyond the mountune map i guess.

Mucky add me to msn if you can please, need to discuss how you did this ;)

Stage 3 Ds like mine :)

I live in Hull and know the Dreamscience guys very well.
Infact i rewired there new unit for them.

Very very clever guys and the kings of St tunning no question

Modx in by far the most advanced map you can get for the focus St changes to rev limits and even settings in the traction control and torque limits in 1st and 2nd gear have been made as a result of there very large customer base giving feedback on what they want.

ModX is a result of over 5 years work with these cars and there still pushing.

ive seen with my own eyes at least 10 mountuned cars at DS as a result of wanting to go to the next level with there cars.

Mountune for a car less than 3 years old(or a DS handset)

DS if you want your car to be all it can be.(for realy not that much more money) mine never gets boring if i leave it on the drive for a week and drive the beemer or the clio cup everytime i get back in.
It just makes me smile from ear to ear fanstatic car.

And anyone that says 320 BHP in a focus is to much realy is talking **** come drive mine.(RS dif and pilot sport 3s the grip is spot on)

its a joy to drive to work its a joy to drive 300 miles to london its a joy to drive to the shops its not that much fun to play with other cars tho as there is very little on the road that will keep up with it.

Just my ten pence worth.......

stage 3 st vs focus RS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzjR-9CgHeQ
i also agree with the opening statement from the guy that made this vid and its also had and interesting reply 2nd quote from jaz a dreamscience.

Yeh i went for the DS but am now going a different route, RS Injectors, live map and a few other bits. The DS is quality and i would urge anyonewith a ST to try it.

eeeewwww be carefull mate who you get to map your car.

bigger turbo

and bad mapping = Cracked linners :(

Good luck tho sounds like fun :)

The lads at Ds recon better turbos are not the problem many people think they are and its all about 3 things.

The map
This just has to be perfect many cars run to lean at the top end with bigger turbos.(i notice you have Rs injectors for this reason so nice :)

The Oil

you realy must upgrade your oil when running this type of power as the original ford stuff just breaks down at these temps and can trigger the cracked linner problems.

Oil cooler

Much the same as above its a good idea to upgrade the oil cooler now to aid with the temp problem. i think the RS oil cooler is a bolt for bolt swap

post your results mate would be very interested to see how you get on with it :)
