Hi all

ive gone and dropped my iphone and smashed the screen! now i dont seem to have a proof of purchase on for this iphone that was replaced under warrenty a while ago! will apple send me on out? im trying to call them but so far its just rung and run for 13mins :(

Ah, ok. With Apple warranty replacements you get a form showing the replacement unit/IMEI - do you not have that?

I guess the insurer will be looking to make sure it's a phone they insure? Mine for example is registered to the IMEI - if I swapped it under warranty I'd have to update the IMEI?

If it's home insurance they may be less fussy and just accept the original proof of purchase. You can usually check warranty status here too but it seems down at the minute

So is this one.

Did you have it swapped in store? If so take some photo ID and your current phone, ask them to check the serial number. They'll be able to retrieve the paperwork generated when you had it swapped.

I don't think it matters - warranty won't cover you dropping your phone and smashing the screen regardless.

warranty doesnt but apple often replace them

the only two times ive ever been to the genius bar there has been people sat next to me getting cracked iphone4s replaced for free

I called up apple care today as for some reason my local store just would not answer the phone!! They have looked into it and are sending me a proof of replacement which I hope the insurance company will accept!!

Which they should due to me not actually purchasing this phone as obviously it was a replacement
