Anyone had their car 'Detailed'?

I'm beginning to wonder if you are even old enough to drive?

Take a look at that shot at what can be achieved without paint by a good detailer.

I was happy sorry I have not got a before shot but trust me its a differant colour.

Its a expensive game, so unless you plan to do your car(s) several times a year, buying the kit can prove to be well dear.

For example heres my kit list

Silverline orange Rotary - £35
Set of 3M pads 6" & 3" and backing plates - £75
Menzerna sample range of polishes - £30
Farecla range of cutting compounds - £40
Various grades of Clay - £30
Wax - £25
Microfibres from Costco - £14
Last touch liquid wax - £20
APC - £10
Chemical Guys wash - £20

Even with all that gear I can never get the car totally defect free, its totally showroom condition to the untrained eye, but under bright lights, especially on dark paints, you can see some V V V lightswirls. And I spend 2 to 3 days on a car, but that includes lots of tea and biscuit breaks, and it is the the car from top to bottom, totally overkill, but I quite enjoy getting a car from crap to brilliant!

I spent 4 days doing my black vectra. 2 days later I put it on its roof.

We then got a old Zafira. And I will give it a clean, a quick fly over with the SRP on a rotary and a couple of layers of wax, that takes the best part of a day, but it's not detailed by any means.

Who did you use?

First time was http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/ (my Elise is on page 12 of the archive gallery)

the Boxster was done by a company in Slough I think, sorry can't remember the name

the Mini was done by a guy from Wales that was recommended on Detailing World forum, sorry can't remember his name.

This has probably been the least informative post I've ever made.
