Anyone have the 450D + 17-55 F2.8 ?

Hi All,

Just wanted to know if anyone here has the 450D and the Canon 17-55 F2.8 ? , are there any other Zoom F2.8 lenses anyone would recommend with the 450D ?

BTW: i have not got the 450D yet but am considering it as a Upgrade to my D50 which i will sell

Both sigma and tamron make some well reviewed F2.8 lenses around that range that could save you a few bucks allthough that Canon lens is a doozy.

The Tamron version is damn sharp and well priced at £200.
The Sigma version is a bit crappy. It just feels worse than the Tamron.
The Canon version I've used is alright, build is average, and you'll probably need to buy a hood...

The Tamron 17-50 is phenomenal value.

The Sigma version (well mine at least) is pretty sharp wide open, plus it focuses very quickly and accurately. But I have the Nikon-fit HSM one, so there may be some difference between the different versions.
