Hi guys,

I was interested in powder coating my CM ATCS 101 black.

Any ideas who might do this sort of work and how much it will cost?

no competitors please.

He asked a qestion, I answered it by linking to my personal Photobucket account.

I don't see how I could have answered his question any other way. :(

Don't think you can answer without breaking the rules. What I will say is it can be done, and it will look damn nice :)

Make sure you post pics if you do get it done mate.

Okies well I thought I answered diplomatically but if people feel I didn't then okay.
I just really couldnt see how else to answer but sorry for the fuss anyway.

Shall email you back in a minute.

Bit scared to post in this thread! however . . .

I didn't really know what powder-coating was so I just gOOgled it. I must say that this technique is becoming a bit common now, almost cliche if you will, everyone and his dog is getting stuff powder coated.

The thought of spending £200 ish on converting a cases colour scheme seems such a waste imo, however if you do it yourself then its not so bad I guess.

Am I right in thinking only metal objects can have this power-coating applied? I just read that part of the process involves baking it in an oven?

From only watching it on American Chopper :) you also use electricity to make the "paint" stick to the item before you bake it in an owen to make it permanent.

It does seem to make a very good finish but it will probably add a few mm to all sides as i believe it's fairly thick...at least seems to be on the bikes :)
