Anyone here use a clothes steamer instead of an iron?

I've recently got a new job which requires me to be fully suited and booted. So, after years of slothing it up in IT, i'm finally going to have to start wearing smart shirts.. which means... IRONING... YAY!

I've just been looking at the various steam irons out there (thrilling!) but was wondering if the hand-held steam "wands" would be a good (quick!) alternative?

Realistically, all I'll be ironing is my shirts and I don't really have the room (or inclination to buy) an iron and ironing board.

I'm currently leaning towards this kind of steamer:

Any thoughts/advice would be most appreciated! :D

Do you not have a Door-to-Door ironing service where you live? If you do, then just use them, saves loads of hassle and time.

What is up with this whole perception of ironing.

It ain't that bad matey, If you want to look smart iron your clothes, there is no way of getting away from it.

Tbh a real man irons his shirts and lets the good little lady do the rest of his ironing. A crisply ironed shirt has no equal.

Steamers are good! I use one and it's much better than an iron I find. One problem I had with normal irons is that it makes your clothes 'shiny', I think it's where it's melting the fabric a little? I haven't used an iron for years.

The problem here is your nylon shirts and not your iron :D
