Anyone know the name of the olympic swimmer who doggy paddle to the end?

I briefly heard years ago that an olympic swimmer, possibly Kenyan? Had to doggy paddle the rest of the length of the pool as they couldn't finish properly.

I know it definitely happended, but i just can't find the name or any news of this happening? It must have been a good 3 years ago i reckon.

No idea what made me think of it.

You are probably thinking of Eric the Eel as Nokkonwud says, he was from Equatorial Guinea although the reports don't seem to mention the doggy paddle I do remember it.
