Anyone know which manufacturer is this?

Hello,

A mate sent me this picture of a card he bought the other day (6800GT AGP). Unfortunately there was no box so all he got was the bare card.

He's asked me if I knew which manufacturer it's made by. It says nVidia on the back of the board, but I'd have thought it was unlikely that it was an original nVidia card?

I know it doesn't really matter who it's made by, but I'd be interested if anyone knew.

Thanks :)

It could be ANYTHING from the early production of the GT. I have a Aopen card and it has this hsf cover, although has a green pcb.

Looks like a Sparkle to me. Most of thier cards tend to be 100% reference designs on a blue PCB, without the customisation of the cooler label which I would expect most of the bigger ones to do.

Hello everybody,

Just resurrecting this thread as we're still wondering about this card and now have a bit more information.

Interestingly we recently found out through coolbits that the GPU on the card comes pre-overclocked by the manufacturer (370Mhz rather than 350Mhz as standard on 6800GTs).

Any other suggestions would be welcome just to satisfy our curiosity.

Thanks :)

Is there a sticker on the card with serial and model no's etc? if you type one or the other or both, into google you should get some info.

I'd say it is a late Galaxy, blue PCB and 370 Mhz core clock. The earlier had Arctic coolers but not all do.

It also appears to have the gold strengthening bar that Galaxy took to fitting to prevent warping from the Arctic Coolers, 370/1000 being stardard clock speeds for them as you say. I'd say that Galaxy would be a reasonable guess. :)

You have to say something like that on your 666th post :p

Nice :p Sorry, just couldn't resist (mainly covering up the fact that I didn't know what brand card it was) :p

Thanks for the replies chaps.

I've just looked up the numbers and I think you could be right Phil99, seems like the manufacturer could be Galaxy due to card being pre-overclocked.

If I remember rightly though the 6800 series Galaxy cards came with factory fitted Arctic coolers (pic below). Maybe this was one of the last few made as the 6800s went out of production and they just went back to the stock coolers.

You know I think that it's XFX actually.

My 6800GS XXX Edition had that exact cooler except the faceplate had a different picture.
