Hi,
Went into an orange shop today to have a play with a K800i. Since I'm a fairly 'low spend' user the upgrade cost was £150. However, the woman in there said the best bet was to cancel my contract and start again with another 12 months, getting the handset for £50. Problem is since I'm on the student plan, the only way to do this is to cancel now, wait 30 days until the contract is completely terminated, and then sign up again.
Question is, at the moment orange have a £100 buyback on old handsets which is pretty amazing (and would cover the cost of the K800i). If I do go ahead and start a new 12 month contract I'll be signing back up in August due to the 30day wait - anyone know if the £100 (or any other) buyback offer is likely to still exist in August?
Alternatively, anyone know any bargaining tools I could use to get the upgrade cost right down?
Thanks for any help
