Anyone on here got a Yaris Tsport ?

Too expensive (Its a toyota, they all seem to be too expensive) and too slow.

A 1.4 zetec fiesta will be as fast, handle just as well, and be considerably cheaper.

No, not really, just with the limited collection of insurers he has quoted with so far.

If you've read a few of the numerous insurance threads that have been floating around lately, you'd see that for young people with poor postcodes, the only real option insurance-wise is to go with one of the Admiral group and add on older drivers with lots of experience.

Now considering that after getting over 30 quotes with varying insurers/brokers, Admiral are by far the cheapest (I'm talking over £300 cheaper) and that it is cheaper for me to insure a Yaris T Sport than a 1.25 Fiesta with them then I'd say that overall a T Sport is cheaper for me to insure than a Fiesta.

I use to have a Yaris and the insurance isnt bad depending on where you live.

They are a great little car and I loved it. Got a lot of stick from people at work but it nevr let me down. My advise is to do a few insurance quotes and see what it comes up with.

If you put your foot down in the right gear it pulls trust me but your petrol will be gone sooner rather than later. I use to get 41mpg with a mixture of driving so overall its not bad.

If you like it then Id say go for it. Dont get a cheap one though cause its probably broke. A good one can be between £1900-£2500 for a 51 reg

I would like to add that you can get it from 0-60 in less than 9secs and that big gains can be acheived with just a few simple mods like an induction kit and exhaust system.

There's a chappy on here with one, but he got bent over big time for insurance so it might not be your best bet for a first car dependant on your age and other factors.

That would be me. Had it for 4 weeks now and love it. It is my first car, and the insurance was £2k so is expensive. A good induction kit and exhaust system is good for a nice grin. Took it to London and had some fun with it in the motorway. Could do with a 6th gear would be better.

does it add anything to the insurance putting them mods on it ?

Interesting, please post some numbers.

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5732

12 hp / 39 lbs/ft over stock

Mods: Megan Racing header, Envy highflow/sports cat, 2.25 in. piping all the way, Megan Racing exhaust, Perrin lightweight crank pulley, Envy cold air intake.

The guy with the dyno said his machine is real accurate, many national racing teams use his dyno for tuning and results.

Interesting that my redline is at 6645 rpm's.

Funny you should say that, the guy I knew who put his T-sport into a hedge bought a Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 to replace it. Performance wise, theres not much in it but the Yaris felt a bit quicker (either that or putting a car in the hedge slowed him down a bit), can't speak for the handling though as I've never drove either. The quality of the Yaris over the ford is ridiculous though, the Ford is literally dropping to bits whereas the everything on the Yaris worked and worked well.
